MAMMA MIA

Happy Weekend!!
Unfortunately I'm back on the sick bandwagon (its hard to get off when we don't stop) so we had a slow start to the morning...though Nath isn't complaining, he loves the sleep in!

Eventually we decided to make the most of the sunny (but cold) day and walk downtown to see the Flatiron building, along the way found some pretty cool cars...

45 blocks later we arrived! Such an amazing building that you probably recognise from almost anuthing set in New York (pay attention the next time you're watching the F.R.I.E.N.D.S intro Bingham boys)
Though I think you really do need to see it in person to appreciate how cool a building can be!

P.s Nathan has a large (and very warm) jacket on...just incase you thought he was tanking up!

I just love it!
In search of food we saw what looked to be a cute little cafe called Eataly Food (you've got to love a good pun) and thought we might check it out...it was PUMPING but curious as to why we went inside, next second, we are in some alternate Italian (and naturally amazing) universe.
It was so crazy inside we literally just did a lap of the place and half an hour later were back on the street. With 14 different places to eat inside (not including the cheese shop, fresh fruit, meat, vegetables, cooking/kitchen accessories, wine, beer, and book store) we have already decided to dedicate a whole day next week to exploring and eating! YAY!

Dad - this is for you "A RESTAURANT THAT LOVES BEER"

We still needed lunch/dinner and stumbled across a gorgeous little french place on Broadway; Vin Sur Vingt.
The limited menu on the door showed most menu items to be $10 so we we're in! However, fairly quickly we realised that 'Vin' must mean Wine as we we're handed a 4 page menu...3 of the pages  dedicated to luxury french wines!
Challenge accepted, as we attempted to embrace the culture and pick something to drink. About an hour later we went with Champagne (and crossed our fingers) of course both were lovely!

Cheers!

We do plan on going back there to actually have a wine...once we've brushed up on our french ;)

As the sun set we walked up 5th past Macy's where Nath managed to score some pretty neat Vans on sale for $50!

Rocked up to Mamma Mia! at 7:45 (the show starts at 8!) and asked the box office if there were any 'rush' tickets for tonight. $60 and fifteen minutes later we were 5 rows from the front (of a completely sold out theatre) singing along with all the ABBA hits!!
A very successful night all round.

It's back to freezing temperatures, but we're still waiting on that snow...comeeeee on!
